Lex Xperience 2026 is a student-led legal innovation event organized under the Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Northern Nigeria. References to "we", "us", or "our" refer to the Lex Xperience organizing team.
2. Information We Collect
When you register for Lex Xperience, we collect:
- Full name and email address
- Student status (ABU or non-ABU)
- ABU ID card or admission letter (ABU students only)
- Areas of interest (optional)
- Paystack payment reference (for verification only)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely for:
- Verifying your registration and eligibility
- Sending confirmation emails and event updates
- Managing attendance and access at the event
- Communicating important changes or announcements
- Improving future editions of Lex Xperience
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond event management.
4. Payment Information
All payments are processed securely through Paystack, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We never see or store your card details — only a payment reference number is shared with us to confirm your registration.
5. ID Document Handling
ABU students must upload an ID card or admission letter for verification. This document is:
- Used solely to verify ABU student status
- Stored securely on our backend server
- Not shared with any third party
- Deleted after the event concludes
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, except:
- Paystack (payment processing only)
- Our backend hosting provider (data storage)
- As required by Nigerian law or a valid legal order
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. Our backend uses HTTPS encryption for all data transfers.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data after the event
- Withdraw consent for future communications

9. Cookies & Session Storage
Our website does not use tracking cookies. We use session storage temporarily to enhance your browsing experience (e.g., personalized greeting), which is automatically cleared when you close your browser tab.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email to registered participants. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
